Logitech has released a new series of speakers Z320
Logitech has recently introduced a new speaker with the speakers placed outside the box and promised to 'sound in the amount of 360'. What is it and how much this statement corresponds to reality?
Recently, there has been a builder interesting trend: more and more money is invested (and, accordingly, is taken from the client) in the design, and less - in the development of the functional.
Beauty, of course, save the world, but in the manufacture of devices for playing music, either turntable or MP3-player, this trend is most dangerous. That is, Logitech has gone on this slippery slope. An example of this - stereo speakers Logitech Z320, which will be the story today.
Design - our all
The peculiarity of these two-lane speaker - that is one of the speakers with reflex put to the rear side, which provides, according to advertising, 'the same sound from anywhere in the room'. Looking ahead - this is true.
Speakers also look very unusual. The manufacturer refused to standard rectangular shape: the speaker is very elegant and pleasing to the eye a stylish black color.
No tone control for bass and Z320 does not. In addition to volume, which in combination, and is responsible for the inclusion, control more than anything. There is a headphone jack size mini-Jack on the side of the right-hand speaker, the speaker connected to a computer using the same standard plug. Diffusers absolutely no reserved (design does not provide even a decorative lattice) and can be easily damaged. This was done, apparently, too, for the sake of design.
Listening test was carried out using a semi-sound card Echo Maya44 and connected to the parallel output of professional headsets Stanton. As the sound source used in CD-format discs CD Audio, as well as WAV and MP3-files of different bitrates.
And here appears the main disadvantage of Z320 - sounds dull and smeared. This is most evident in the compositions with the live recording, and electronic music are played, to put it mildly, awful. Also, apparently, in the speakers there is some sort of technology to enhance the low frequency (either a reflex influence of non-standard location), which dramatically affects the quality of sound and makes it even weaker. Not to mention the fact that the sound of 'choking' at high volume, and the body begins to vibrate mercilessly.
Plus - a sound decision by '360' is really the same anywhere in the room. It is equally bad. But do not expect any 'surround sound' or something similar: even the cheapest set of 5.1 (or at least 4.1), these speaker will not be replaced.
Logitech Z320 - no more than a fashionable gift with an unusual and stylish appearance. This speaker for either games or listening to music or for movies, for anything at all similar. But for the present, they fit perfectly: the sound is neither worse nor much better than other pieces of plastic (though there are 2-3 times more expensive due to design and unconventionally arranged speakers and bass reflex), but they look impressive and have a rant in the description '360'.
